1500W Low-Lying Fog Machine (DIY Rental)
Create cinematic, floor-hugging fog for entrances, photos, Halloween, and stage reveals—without hiring a tech. This 1500-watt unit chills standard fog so it clings to the floor, then gently lifts for atmosphere. Use regular ice for eerie ambience, or dry ice for the densest, cleanest floor effect (often used for “Dance on a Cloud” moments).
What’s included
- 1500W low-lying fog machine
- Fog fluid pre-filled with high-density formula (optimized for low-lying effects)
- Remote control (simple on/off trigger)
- Quick-start instructions
You bring: regular ice or dry ice.
Ice vs. Dry Ice (which to choose)
- Dry ice (premium effect): Thick, white fog that hugs the floor and dissipates cleanly—ideal for wedding first looks and “cloud” style moments.
- Regular ice (ambient/eerie): Convincing ground fog that slowly rises—great for Halloween parties, haunted walks, and general atmosphere.
- Tip: Smaller pieces (ice cubes or broken dry-ice chunks) chill more efficiently and keep the fog lower.
Dry ice in Saskatoon (where & how)
- Where to buy: Linde (formerly Praxair) on 51st St E, Saskatoon. Call ahead for availability.
- What to bring: An insulated cooler. Staff will load dry ice for you.
- Storage: Keep the cooler vented (not airtight) so CO₂ can escape. Handle with insulated gloves. Buy the day of or day before your event (dry ice sublimates).
Quick setup (DIY)
- Place the unit where you want the fog to start; reduce airflow (close doors/vents) for best results.
- Add regular ice or dry ice to the top chamber (don’t overfill; close the lid).
- Plug into power and allow a few minutes to warm up (ready light will indicate).
- Trigger short bursts with the remote to “feather” the look.
- If you used regular ice, open the drain after use to empty meltwater.
Power & plugs (read this)
- Heater load: 1500W (about 12.5A @ 120V). Use a dedicated 15A outlet.
- Extension cords: Keep short and heavy-duty (14 AWG or thicker, up to ~50 ft).
- Normal behavior: brief re-heat pauses can occur during extended cues.
- Do not plug into dimmers or share a circuit with other heavy appliances.
Fluid policy (important)
We provide high-density fog fluid already in the tank. Do not add water or other fluids. If you expect long run times, request extra of the same fluid in advance.
Size & transport
- Roughly carry-on size; about 25” × 12” × 12”.
- ~26 lb; one-person carry.
- Fits easily in a car trunk or back seat.
Safety & venue notes
- Detectors: Low-lying fog can still trigger certain smoke/beam detectors—confirm with your venue.
- Surfaces: Fog can make floors slightly slippery; walk carefully.
- Dry ice: Ventilate the area, keep away from children/pets, never seal in an airtight container, and wear insulated gloves when handling.
Perfect for
- Wedding entrances and photo moments (ask about our dedicated “Dance on a Cloud” package)
- Halloween parties and haunted walk-throughs
- Stage reveals, product launches, photo/video shoots
